Voting

Homeowners vote on important issues such as electing board members, changing community rules, and making decisions that impact property values and quality of life. Understanding the voting process empowers homeowners to have a voice in how their community is managed and ensures that decisions reflect the interests of the majority.

Have a Say in Oak Hills

Homeowner participation is essential to the success and direction of our community. This section provides information on upcoming HOA elections, open board positions, and how to cast your vote—whether online, by mail, or in person. Details on candidate eligibility, voting timelines, and ballot measures will be posted here as they become available.

Your voice matters. Voting is an important way to help shape the future of Oak Hills, support community leadership, and ensure every homeowner has a say in the decisions that affect our shared neighborhood.

Methods for Voting

There are different ways to vote:
  • In-Person Voting: Members attend a meeting and cast their votes on-site, often using paper ballots or a show of hands.
  • Proxy Voting: Authorize someone else to vote for you by submitting a written proxy.
  • Mail-In Ballots: Completing and returning a paper ballot by mail before a set deadline.
  • Electronic Voting: Members vote securely online through a platform that is accessible from anywhere.

Proxy Votes

A proxy is a written authorization that allows another person to vote on your behalf.

There are two main types of proxies:
  • General Proxy: Allows the proxy holder to vote on any matter as they see fit.
  • Limited Proxy: Specifies exactly how the proxy holder must vote on certain issues.

Using a proxy ensures your vote counts even if you’re unavailable.
Refer to the Governing Documents for more information about voting.
